Weathersfield Service Day

Weathersfield Service Day
What a wonderful community we live in!!!! We had over 20 volunteers join us for a wonderful morning. The students were able to talk with people in our community who provides services in our town. We had service people from Weathersfield Police, Vermont State Police, Ascutney Vol. Fire Dept., West Weathersfield Vol. Fire Dept., Weathersfield Dept. of Public Works, Golden Cross Ambulance, and Animal Control!

We had 2 police cruisers, numerous fire trucks, front end loaders, a grader, a few dump trucks, an ambulance, and animal control to look out and "honk" the horns and sirens (sorry to the neighbors for the noise)!

After a fun filled recess of climbing through the vehicles, the volunteers had lunch with the students in grades K-4! Thank you for giving an incredible day for our students! They are still talking about it... it meant so much to them and they learned a lot!  We are proud and grateful that these service providers are in our community and care so deeply! Thanks to Mrs. Newhall for the homemade donuts and chocolate cake to go with the lasagna and salad!  BJ and her Mom made a homemade meal for the visitors today... they are GREAT community servants and role models, too!
