Daily Homework Assignments for Grades 5-8
Please remember that we no longer are putting daily homework assignments on the school's webpage for grades 5-8, as this information can be found in the Parent Portal of the PowerSchool GradeBook under Homework. Please feel free to call the school and/or your child's teacher if you have homework questions.
Walk to School Day a Big Success
On Wed., October 9th, we celebrated Walk to School Day. 118, (half of the entire school population!), of us met at the old restaurant in town, (Café De Sol), and walked through the back roads parallel to Route 5 until we were directly across the street from the school. It was a hearty, healthy, safe walk, with lots of laughter and good cheer.
Bus Drills
On Thursday, October 3, 2013, we conducted bus drills at school, starting at 7:35 am. These were not announced, so the children were surprised. BJ Esty conducted the drills and reported that all went well. Where she saw problems, she immediately addressed the issues with the students and bus drivers to seize the problem as the teachable moment, to make sure issues like this do not crop up in a real bus emergency. Thank you, BJ!
Halloween Dance
There will be a fun dance for grades 5-8 on Friday, October 25, 2013 from 7 to 9:00 pm in the ap room, sponsored by the WS Service Group. Costumes are welcome, especially those that light up or glow in the dark! Refreshments will be served. Cost of the dance is $5.00 per student.
