Weathersfield News, Week of September 30, 2013

October is less than 13 hours away. (I write the Thursday news on Monday!) Fall has officially arrived. The leaves are falling and the colors are beautiful in places. It's not so bright in other places.

What a busy weekend. Two of the five pigs are in the freezer. They are absolutely delicious!! Sausage and ground pork are being processed.

The turkeys are almost at the optimum weight. They might be headed into the freezer early.

There are many events happening in Weathersfield over the Columbus Day weekend. Check out the WeathersfieldVermontNews.blogspot.com to find out where to get fresh apple cider, warm donuts, treasures at the yard sales and much, much more!

We were given a bouncy house for the kids entertainment. It provided much exercise for them and an over-abundance of entertainment for all the adults, also!

So, are you ready for Halloween? The decorations and costumes have been in the store for weeks now. Thanksgiving decorations are out. We are only days away from Christmas displays. As of October 1st there are 84  days until Christmas. (I know my sister, Janet, and her son, Joe, are anxiously waiting... they already have their Christmas tree up!)

Road construction on Route 131 continues on. Friday they started paving from the Interstate west. It will be wonderful when our cars aren't covered with grey dirt.

Harvest your pumpkins, process your produce, get the wood stacked in the basement and plastic your windows. Winter is on the way!!
