WEATHERSFIELD — Authorities say a 19-year-old New Hampshire woman was killed Sunday evening in a single-vehicle accident on Route 131.

Scotlynn Silfies, a 2013 graduate of Fall Mountain Regional High School, was pronounced dead at Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont. She was a passenger in a vehicle operated by 20-year-old Seth Smith, who was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon and was treated for his injuries.

Jen Hutchins with the Weathersfield Police Department said in a press statement officers responded at 7:19 p.m. Sunday to reports of a motor vehicle crash and found the car (its make and model were not identified Monday) was traveling westbound on Route 131 when it left the roadway and overturned.

Silfies, who is listed on her social networking page as a Claremont resident, studied nursing at River Valley Community College. She enjoyed music and dancing.

Messages of condolences were posted on similar networking sites, asking friends and classmate to pray for her family. Through the local police, family members expressed their deepest thanks to the good Samaritans who stopped to assist and all emergency personnel would responded to the scene.

This accident remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to contact Hutchins at (802) 674-1082.
