Applicants Wanted for Sammy Pierce Memorial Scholarship

The Crown Point Board of Realtors and the family of Sammy Pierce are looking for local students to apply for the Sammy Pierce Memorial Scholarship. Public, private, home-schooled and college students, adult learners and previous recipients are encouraged to apply.

According to the Crown Point Board of Realtors, Pierce was a real estate professional of the highest caliber. He was well known in the area not only for his real estate professional of the highest caliber. He was well known in the area not only for his real estate expertise, but also for his willingness to help others.

Pierce died in a tragic motorcycle accident. As in all accidents, there is never an expectation, no warning, no good-byes.

The Crown Point Board of Realtors and Pierce's family will choose two  recipients to receive $1,000 scholarships. All they will look for are individuals who exemplify the same giving spirit Pierce displayed.

Students from Vermont towns of Andover, Baltimore, Cavendish, Chester, Grafton, Ludlow, Mount Holly, Rockingham, Springfield and Weathersfield going on to a two- or four-year college program. Applications are available at local high schools or by contacting Jim McCaffery at (802) 869-1271.

The deadline to apply is Monday, May 12. Winners will be announced in June.
