Kate Adams journeyed to Pine Ridge Reservation last summer to learn from Lakota horsemen and assist with the Youth Sobriety Horseback Ride.

She was invited to join Lakota horsemen riding and camping 150 miles across the reservation, a riding prayer for protection of the earth from the XL pipeline.

At the onset of her return to the reservation in October, she was stranded for five days with a native cattle rancher during a killer blizzard.

ate is a photojournalist, educator and horsewoman who resides at the base of Mt Ascutney, Vermont. Come see photo images and hear stories of Kate's adventures.

The Weathersfield Proctor Library is located at 5181 Route 5 Ascutney, VT. For more information visit www.weathersfieldproctorlibrary.org or call 802.674.2863
