What a wonderful week. The snow is pretty on the trees. The Olympics
have started. It is wonderful that we have so many talented and athletic
individuals representing our country.
February in Vermont is the
longest month of the year. I don't care what the calendar says. At
least the snow is brightening things up and making everything look clean
and pretty. However, it is cold. Both wood stoves are working to their
full potential. I'm still managing to get outside and work in the barn
in short bursts. Then I have to go back into the house and warm up my
lungs so I can breathe.
Bella has finally got her cast off! Her
leg is healed from all the pressure sores and the hair is almost all
grown back. It still is a little tender at times. She is still working
on building the muscles and strength back up. No more vet appointments
for another month!!
I am working on the few dishes that didn't go
in the dishwasher and am enjoying the horses rolling in the snow and
running around. The goats are fuzzy and don't like the snow. Neither do
the chickens. However, on the bright side, it's only 35 days until
spring! Seed catalogs are arriving in mailboxes, items are being
circled, plans for the garden are being sketched out, bulbs are waiting
to be planted!
According to my daughter's boyfriend, Town
Reports are being bound and trimmed. That means that Town Meeting is
right around the corner. Mark your calendar for March 3 for Town Meeting
night and March 4 for Voting!!!
It's not too late to register to
vote! Go to your Town Clerk's Office!! If you aren't going to be home,
be sure to file your paperwork to get an absentee ballot.
VOTE!! Vote, Vote!!!
