After a very cold start to the day, we'll get some sunshine on this Monday, and it won't be as windy as it was on Sunday.  But temperatures will still be running well below average.  The normal high for Burlington is 42°, and we will only be in the mid-20s today.

Most of Tuesday will be quiet.  But it will be the calm before the storm.  A major coastal storm will be hitting us with a variety of nasty weather, unfortunately right on one of the busiest travel days of the year.

There is a  *WINTER STORM WATCH* for most of the region, except our far southern areas, for Tuesday night through Wednesday evening.

The storm will start as wet snow by Tuesday evening.  As we go through Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, warm air will move in and change the snow to rain.  The rain could be heavy at times on Wednesday.

As the storm tracks quickly to the north, the rain will change back to snow again for a while late Wednesday into Wednesday night.  Cold air will come blasting in on strong north winds, which will quickly freeze up the roads.

Icing and strong winds could bring down tree limbs and power lines.

Thanksgiving Day will feature a few leftover snow showers in the morning, then clearing skies into the afternoon.  But it will be a chilly, blustery day.

We will keep you posted on the very latest developments of this major storm and how it will affect your holiday traveling plans.
