What a busy week/weekend. We had company for the week from South
Carolina. Roger Martel and Joe Kendall came to visit. When they went
back south on Saturday, they had a horse for Sandy with them! Everyone
had a great ride home, Gus (the horse) traveled well and everyone is now
happy and settled in. A few of our goats also found a new home this
weekend. The barn is much less full, but everyone now fits in the barn
for the winter.
My husband, Mike, shot an 8 point 180 pound buck
on Sunday afternoon. By the time he got home, it was late. Glad we had a
few less mouths to feed in the barn.
The turkeys are scheduled
to start being refrigerated this week. With our first Thanksgiving
coming up on Saturday, time to start plucking feathers!
The
construction, paving and line painting seems to be done on Route 131!!!
It will be so nice to drive across town without the dust and delays.
The
Weathersfield Elementary School is starting to come down. There is a
good section that is already down and being cleaned up. During this
time, Hoisington Field is closed to activities.
Budget season is
trudging along. More meetings scheduled. Compromises, decisions,
recommendations. The final version will be printed in the Town Report
and presented at Town Meeting.
Time to start putting away the
lawn furniture and the toys. Snow is sure to be arriving soon and it
will be much easier to do this before it gets buried in snow.
Stay warm!
