Happy Veterans Day! If you appreciate your freedom to speak, write and
express yourself, make sure you thank a Veteran today. It is through
their unselfish contribution to the United States that we are able to be
Free. My cousin, Zachary Hoover, just returned from Afghanistan about a
month ago. He is one in the long line of relatives that have gone above
and beyond to protect this country and serve in the military. It is too
little, in any language, to say "Thank You." But it is the best I can
do.
Just returned late last evening from the wonderful Equine
Affair in West Springfield, Mass. Everything horses, Horses, Horses!!!! I
did something new this year and volunteered for a little while. It was
great to see a few faces that I recognized in that teeming horde.
Weather
for this evening does not sound promising... Winter is soon to rear
it's ugly head. I am working around the farm today, gathering up yard
toys, chairs, equipment, etc. It won't be long now before snow is on the
ground to stay.
My husband, Mike, shot a spike horn, 115 lbs. in
New Hampshire last Sunday. Also, my cousins boy, Levi, shot a 98 pound
doe this last weekend! Oh, the wonderful taste of fresh venison!! Our
freezer is filling up fast and it won't be long now before we are
processing the turkeys.
Wednesday is the date for the next tax
payments for Weathersfield. If you are reading this on Thursday, and
it's past 5:30, then, um, you have an additional charge on your tax
payment :(
Hunting season starts next weekend, so for those of
you out walking dogs, riding horses, etc. in the woods, don't forget to
wear some bright colors, bring some bells, be mindful of the hunters in
your areas. Hunters, make sure you are keeping the woods you hunt in
clean of garbage - landowners are much more appreciative of clean woods!
Only shoot if you know your target and have a clean kill shot.
Stay safe and happy hunting!
