Charles B. Osgood


Weathersfield, Vt. — Charles B. Osgood, 73, beloved father and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Weathersfield on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2013.

He was born and raised in Vermont and lived in Connecticut for 19 years before returning to Vermont.

Charlie worked at various jobs throughout the years but will most be remembered as doing anything for anyone who needed a hand. 

He was a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars in Brattleboro and loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

He will be deeply missed by his family and numerous friends in both Connecticut and Vermont.

Charlie is survived by his children, Deborah Wagner and her husband, Larry of East Hartford, Conn., Richard Osgood and his wife, Lori of Tolland, Conn., Jennifer Doughty and her husband, Bret of Willington, Conn., Charlene Osgood of Manchester, Conn. and Scott Merrill and his wife, Dustin of Windsor, Vt.; thirteen grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Osgood and his wife, Janice; a sister, Dora and her husband, Norbert; several nieces and nephews including his best friend and niece, Shirley.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to your local veteran’s organization in Charlie’s memory.
