Elementary school children in grades Kindergarten through 4th are
invited to participate in the 58th annual Apple Blossom Cotillion.
These younger performers, always a real crowd pleaser, are introduced in
couples, just like the high school participants and escorts, and they
perform several singing and dancing numbers.
This year’s Cotillion is on Friday and Saturday, May 2 & 3 and is
directed by Tammy Farmer and Lisa Rushton. The coordinators of the
children’s part of the production are Suzy Coutermarsh, Tami Stagner,
and Joey Claflin. The theme of this year’s show is A Thriller Night
Cotillion Style and features songs performed by Michael Jackson.
Children should apply in couples – a girl and her male escort – just
like the high school participants. Elementary school couples who submit
a completed application by the due date of December 9 are eligible to
participate unless the number of applicants exceeds the capacity of the
production. In that case, a random drawing will be held on December 12
to determine the participants.
Parents who would like their children to participate may obtain an
application form from the Springfield Hospital Development office,
885-7644, or lkraft@springfieldmed.org . ###
