Weathersfield Food Shelf to open at Country Creamee

Please print the following:
“Answering a plea for help in finding a temporary location for the Weathersfield Food Shelf, thankfully, Ed and Sue Whittemore have offered the use of their Country Creamee building at Downers Corners during the off season.  Food will distributed on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 4:00 to 6:00 pm beginning on January 9th.
Meanwhile, it appears the 1879 brick school building in Perkinsville will not be available for some time as voters will be asked to appropriate funds for the necessary upgrades to the building at Town Meeting in March.  Accordingly, the Food Shelf Committee is continuing the search for an available building from which to distribute food when the Country Creamee building is no longer available.
The Food Shelf Committee wishes to thank the many neighbors for their generous response to the fund raising campaign.  Without their support it would not be possible to provide assistance to Weathersfield families in need.  A Weathersfield Food Shelf  website has been established and is currently under construction.  Neighbors are invited to view the progress at www.weathersfieldfoodshelf.org.’'
Donations of non-perishable food items are welcome and may be brought to Country Creamee during hours of operation or left at Martin Hall, or temporarily at the Ascutney Post Office.
Thank you,
Janet Gould
