The roller coaster ride continues on. Welcome to winter in New England!
It's balmy out today (Monday), the sun is shining and the air feels like
March! Makes me wonder what surprises will be coming around in
February?!?!?
Bella, the wonder dog, and my daughter moved home
just before Christmas. Bella is in week 12 - or is it 13? - of her cast
for her broken leg. We have had a few unscheduled re-castings. She seems
to enjoy munching on the no-chew bandages. With the ice and a wiggly 60
pound dog - with cast even - it's a scary path across the drive way to
get to the van to take her to the vets. She is in the hospital today
for, sigh, more follow up x-rays and, fingers crossed, no cast on her
return today!!!
Are you aware that you can download audio books
and e-books from the comfort of your own home? Do you know that nooks
and kindles are available to borrow from your Library? Computers are
available? Copier/fax machine? DVD's? Books, books and more books? Free
online classes? Programs for all ages. Come visit your local library and
see what you've been missing out on. And the best news? It's FREE!
Sign up for your library card today if you don't already have one. Visit
the web site at WeathersfieldProctorLibrary.org to see what is going
on!
I noticed the other day as I was at Martin Memorial
Hall/Weathersfield Town Office that there was a large pile of sand at
the back corner of the parking lot. It is available for residents to
sand their walk ways and drive ways. There is also a pile available at
the Town Garage.
A very well-deserved THANK YOU to the Town and
State crews for keeping the roads safe for travel. It seems as if the
only time you are contacted it is to remedy a complaint. THANK YOU,
THANK YOU!!!!
It's not too late to register to vote in the
upcoming elections... but hurry, time is short! Visit your local Town
Clerk's Office to register. Also, if you are not going to be in town on
March 4th - voting day - be sure to file for your absentee ballot. Wednesday, February 26, 2014- Last Day to Register To Vote for 2014 Town Meeting. Mark your calendars: Monday, March 3 is Town Meeting Day.
Your Vote is your Voice. Every vote counts.
For women, especially, it was a hard fought battle to be granted the
right to voice our vote. Please exercise that right to vote!
Have
you broken your New Year's Resolutions yet this year? It's not too late
to get back on track. I've already marked my calendar through December
for a few events we have planned for family this year. However, the one
about housekeeping has already begun lagging behind. Sigh. I'll catch up
tomorrow...
Lily, my 11 year old pug, is sleeping in the patch
of sun on the living room floor. It's so adorable when she moves to get
the full effect when the light shafts. She looks so very comfortable.
It's a beautiful, blue sky day. On Thursday, there are 61 days until
spring. The weather will pass, the snow will melt, the grass will start
growing.
Keeping the wood stove going and bundling up when we go outside will last a few more days. Stay safe and warm.
