How To Search The Internet Anonymously

How to Search the Internet Anonymously

Most search engines ( like Google) track your usage, search history, and have the ability to store your IP address (your computer's unique identifier information). If you have ever received an email or seen an advertisement online that seemed targeted to you, this is the result of a search engine tracking you.

If you would like to seach the internet anonymously, here are a few suggestions:

duckduckgo - does not store personal information such as IP addresses and keeps data safe from third parties by enabling encryption by default

startpage - offers Google results through a proxy that allows for anonymous searching

Ixquick - the same as startpage but offers results through multiple search engines
