Sinkhole near Windsor school shuts down road

WINDSOR, Vt. - Traffic could be worse near a Windsor school this week because of sinkholes that officials say will likely take weeks to fix.

Right now, no cars are allowed on Ascutney Street between Union and State Streets. The town says they found a significant failure of an old stone culvert under the road near the entrance to the school.

Parents looking to get their kids to school can use State Street. But you won't be able to get to the school on Union Street.

The town says a team of contractors and engineers are developing a plan to fix it, but they expect it could take two to six weeks.
