The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife is going to be
hosting a free hunter education field day for women in Canaan.
The
Sept. 27 event at Jackson's Lodge is part of the events offered at
Vermont Outdoor Woman's annual fall Doe Camp. Women not attending the
camp may also participate in the field day.
Participants
must first pass the online firearms course or complete a workbook,
which is available on the Vermont Fish & Wildlife website.
The
field day will cover basic firearm handling and safety, proper shooting
techniques, game tracking, ethical hunting practices, basic survival
skills, and hunting regulations.
Women
who pass the final written exam will receive a Hunters Education
Firearm Safety Certification Card, valid in all U.S. States and Canadian
provinces.
