Route 131 Paving Project

The Vermont Agency of Transportation has awarded the Route 131 road improvement project in Weathersfield, VT to Pike Industries. Duration of this project is expected to run from July 15th, 2013 through July of 2014.
The project extends along Route 131 from the New Hampshire border west to the intersection of Routes 106 and 131, aka Downer’s Corner, for a distance of eight miles. Construction activities will consist of the following on Route 131:
  • NH border west to I91, Exit 8, interchange – Milling, paving and line striping the existing roadway.
  • I91, Exit 8, interchange west to the Route 106/131 intersection, aka Downer’s Corner – Reclaiming, ditching, installation of new guardrail, paving and line striping.
All work performed on the project will be during daytime work hours. Saturday work may be necessary to remain on schedule.
Travel will be reduced to one lane throughout the project. At times, motorists may experience traffic delays while traveling through the construction zone. Traffic control will be present to maintain traffic flow. Motorists are encouraged to plan for traffic delays accordingly. Construction work updates will be published, weekly, at a minimum, and posted in various media sources and on www.roadworkupdates.com
