Marguerite B Bryant Davis, 92

Marguerite Basso Bryant Davis, 92, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Cedar Hill Health Care Center in Windsor. She was born May 2, 1924, in Springfield, Vermont, the daughter of Arthur E. and Marcella (Witherall) Basso. She attended Springfield schools, graduating from Springfield High School Class of 1942. She later attended courses for computer and business training.

On Jan. 23, 1946, she married Everett E. Bryant. He predeceased her March 11, 1994. On Oct. 6, 1995, she married Earl E. Davis Sr. He predeceased her Jan. 23, 2008.

She was employed as a secretary with the Bellows Falls Hospital for several years, a bookkeeper with Chester Plumbing & Heating for eight years, and also worked at the Springfield Phone Company and the Baltimore School.

She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Springfield, a 70-year member of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Grange.

She enjoyed her time with the Eastern Star and Grange and also enjoyed sewing and sewed many of the gowns for the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two sons, Arthur Bryant of Perkinsville and George Bryant of Olatha, Kansas; two brothers, Edmond Basso of Ascutney and William Basso of Chester; four grandsons, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Nancy Bryant.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 6, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Springfield, Vermont. Burial will follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery in North Springfield, Vermont. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 5, at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.

Contributions may be made in her memory to the Calvary Baptist Church Memorial Fund 156 Main St., Springfield,VT 05156. Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield,Vermont.
