Lois S Rice

Burial will be held privately for Lois S. Rice, 82, who died Sept. 25 at Hanover Terrace Health Care in Hanover, New Hampshire.

Lois was born on Feb. 27, 1932 in Hanover, New Hampshire, daughter of Cecil W. Longe and Helen Howe Towne.

Lois graduated from Woodstock High School in 1950 and worked at the Woodstock Drug Store for a few years.

On Oct. 18, 1957 she married Roger Rice.

Lois work many years at the R. F. Book Bindery in West Woodstock and then for a few years at the Woodstock Inn and the Brookside Hotel. Most of her later years were spent raising a family and being a grandmother.

Lois enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, playing many card games, picking berries, and listening to old time bluegrass music. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grand-children.

She is survived by two sons; Patrick of Newport, New Hampshire and James and his wife Tammy of Springfield; two daughters; Sharon and her husband Perley of West Topsham and Sara and her husband Charles of Bremerton, Washington; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister Suzanne Esty; one brother Paul “Sailer” Towne; and many nieces and nephews.

Lois was predeceased by her parents; husband; two brothers; Charles and Lee “Bud” Jr.; and two sisters; Norma and Mary.
