Inmate escapes from Windsor work camp

WINDSOR, Vt. - State Police and U.S. Marshals are on the hunt for a prison escapee.

The break happened at the Windsor Prison Work Camp just after 10 a.m. Monday. Police are rushing to the area, which includes I-91.

The Corrections Department says 23-year-old Anthony Fitzgerald was outside at the Work Camp as a regular part of his day, when he managed to get under the fence and took off running.

Fitzgerald is serving 3.5 to ten years for lewd and lascivious conduct.

Prosecutors say he had sex with a 13 year-old and 15 year-old.

Officials say he also has a federal record for failing to register as a sex offender.
