Weathersfield News, Week of March 17, 2014

Spring is here! Officially, Thursday, March 20 at 12:57 pm. The only problem is that Old Man Winter doesn't seem to have gotten the memo that he is on the way out the door. The predicted temperatures for this week don't quite mesh with the picture that comes to mind when you think "Spring".

I'm still waiting on the official list, but am aware of at least a few Board positions available. There are 2 or 3 seats open on the Zoning Board and 1 opening for a citizen on the Fire Commission. I'll have more next week after the official list comes out. Be a part of your Town. Be involved!

The Weathersfield Proctor Library is hosting the Third Annual Town Challenge at the Weathersfield School, 136 School House Road, off Route 5 in Ascutney. It will start at 7 pm on Saturday, March 22nd. Come watch your favorite Town Board or Organization compete in a six-category trivia contest, win prizes for best team spirit (this part is lots of laughs) and the most money raised.

Which is your favorite team? The Town Office, Library, School Board, Ascutney Fire Department, The Weathersfield Historical Society??

You may sponsor any team in any amount and you may even sponsor more than one team. Everyone is invited to this wonderful event, and you are NOT required to sponsor a team to attend.

Donations are always appreciated and refreshments will be available to purchase. All proceed benefit the Weathersfield Proctor Library Expansion Fund. If you have any questions, please call Cookie at 674-5021.

The West Weathersfield Fire Department is hosting a Baked Ham Dinner on Saturday, March 22nd at 5 pm. The Fire House is located at the junction of Routes 131 & 106 in Perkinsville, Vt. Adults are $9./Kids $4.50/Under 5 FREE. The menu consists of baked ham with maple syrup sauce, mashed potato, applesauce, cole slaw, biscuits, dessert and drink. All are welcome and all proceeds benefit the Volunteer Fire Department.

There are rumors circulating around Town regarding misinformation about the Weathersfield Proctor Library Expansion Project.
