6th Annual Town Challenge, April 8

Event: Apr 8, 2017, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
The Weathersfield Proctor Library is hosting its SIXTH ANNUAL TOWN CHALLENGE on Saturday night, April 8th at 7 p.m.
This fun event will feature nine or ten Town teams competing for top honors. Each team consist of three members from the following organizations: Town Office, Select Board, Historical Society, Veterans Memorial Committee, Proctor Library, Weathersfield school staff, Ascutney Volunteer Fire Department, School Board, and local students at both the middle school and high school.
The format is that each team will answer questions in random order in six trivia categories: spelling, Town History, Current Events/Sports, “Name That Tune,” Geography, and Literature. Often times, the answers are perfectly correct or ridiculous. In addition to bragging rights for first place, there is also a prize for the team that displays the most team spirit, and the team that raises the most funds.
This event is a fundraising event for the Library’s capital campaign fund. This past summer the Library added a new entry and bathroom to the Library’s original structure in order to meet ADA standards. The second planned expansion is to enlarge the children’s area. We have also recently learned that we have received a matching grant for up to $15,000 from the Byrne Foundation, so any funds received during this event will be matched.
So, which organization will be our 6th Challenge winner? The public is invited to attend, and there will be door prizes and refreshments.
SATURDAY, APRIL 8TH, 7 P.M. AT THE WEATHERSFIELD SCHOOL, ASCUTNEY, VT.
