Vermont Agrability Project 2nd Annual Field Day!

The Vermont AgrAbility Project will host the 2nd annual Farmer's Field Day on Thursday July 30, 2015 at the Kayhart Brothers Dairy in West Addison, VT (7429 VT Route 17W) from 9-3:30. Everybody is welcome and lunch will be served to the first 150 in attendence.
The Vermont AgrAbility Project is a USDA-funded program administered by UVM Extension and the Vermont Center for Independent Living. The Project helps farmers, families, and farmworkers with disabilities find ways to continue farming and living successfully while maintaining a high quality of life.
After a highly successful 2014 Field Day, the Vermont AgrAbility Project looks forward to another exciting event this year with even more presentations, demonstrations, and vendors. As the day's events continue to evolve attendees can anticipate such highlights as presentations by representatives of Vermont's Farmer Veteran Coalition and the future direction of AgrAbility services geared toward returning veterans, demonstrations of adaptive farming equipment, and personal glimpses of current and former Vermont AgrAbility Project clients on how they keep farming with a disability.
Several vendors will be present such as Life Essentials, Farm Arm (Northeastern University students who help engineer adaptive farming equipment), the Amputee Coalition of America, among others. University of Vermont will have several informational booths to help current farmers and those wishing to get into farming find resources to improve their existing operation or to begin their passion for agriculture. Representatives from Vermont Center for Independent Living will be available to talk about AgrAbility services and help those interested initiate services.
If you are a farmer with any type of disability, are a veteran interested in farming, or know someone who is, this event is for you! For more information or to request a disability-related accommodation please contact George Cook at (802) 888-4972 or email vtagrability@uvm.edu.
