Suspension of Free Electronic Waste Collection at Weathersfield Transfer Station

Suspension of Free Electronic Waste Collection
at Weathersfield Transfer Station

Waste Recycling / Commodity Value Processing - United Electronic ...
Effective immediately, the Town of Weathersfield has suspended the free collection of electronic waste at the Weathersfield Transfer Station. We will accept electronic waste only as a pay item.

Until September 30th, the Transfer Station was one of 125 sites in the state participating in the state’s free electronic waste recycling program. However, we have now been notified that the contractor hired by the state to recycle our waste will no longer be picking up any e-waste from Weathersfield under this free program.

The suspension of the free program will remain in effect until such time as the state determines how it wishes to proceed with its free e-waste program state-wide. It is possible, even likely, that the Weathersfield Transfer Station will be permanently removed from the list of sites licensed to accept electronic waste free of charge.

We urge residents to leave their electronic waste at home while we await action by the state. Should you wish to dispose of your electronic waste at this time, we will accept it as a pay item at the following rates:
