He was born May 5, 1963, in Windsor, the son of Lawrence Ovitt and Roxanna (Allen) Pierce.
He was a graduate of Springfield High School.
Mr. Ovitt worked as a painter for the R&R Painting Co. in Springfield and later, for Preferred Building Systems in Claremont, New Hampshire.
He enjoyed fishing and target shooting.
Survivors include a daughter, Anastasia Ovitt; a granddaughter; seven siblings, Jeff, Kevin, Patrick, Kurt, Richard, Cynthia, Kathryn; and his mother.
The celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
