He married Beverly Young in Weathersfield, Vt. They enjoyed 60 + years together before her passing in 2012.
Harold worked at Valley Farms and for many years he was employed with Boggy Meadow Farm in Walpole, N.H.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and vegetable gardening. He loved trips to York Beach, Maine, enjoyed feeding the birds and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by 1 son Dennis Harris of Hinsdale, N.H. , 1 daughter Dianne Fontaine of Rutland, Vt. 1 sister Mary Vittum of North Walpole, N.H. 3 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Also by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by 2 brothers – Willis and Henry and 2 sisters – Josephine and Gertrude.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Sunday August 6, 2017 at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, Vt. Friends may call at the Chapel from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Reverend Mark Harris will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Bow Cemetery in Weathersfield, Vt.
