US Route 5 - Weekly Construction Update - 5/5/2017:
The prime contractor, Lane Construction, will begin shoulder widening in Springfield next week.
They will begin this work just north of the Exit 7 interchange, and continue working north on US Route 5 through Springfield.

The prime contractor, Lane Construction, will begin shoulder widening in Springfield next week.
They will begin this work just north of the Exit 7 interchange, and continue working north on US Route 5 through Springfield.
As such, they will complete shoulder widening along the northbound lane first followed by the southbound lane.
There will be alternating one-way traffic around construction activities.
The contractor is planning to work Monday thru Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM.
There will be no roadway closures as part of this project.
