Special Weather Statement Until 4:15 PM edt Thursday

Issuing Office: Burlington
Source: The National Weather Service
11:16am EDT, Thu Oct 27
SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT UNTIL 4:15PM EDT THU
... MIXED SNOW AND RAIN MAY IMPACT EVENING COMMUTE...
LIGHT SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP LATER THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS AREAS EAST OF THE GREEN MOUNTAINS IN VERMONT. A DUSTING TO TWO INCHES OF SNOW ACCUMULATION IS LIKELY BEFORE MIXING WITH AND CHANGING OVER TO RAIN AT THE LOWER ELEVATIONS. THIS MIXED PRECIPITATION MAY RESULT IN SLIPPERY TRAVEL DURING THE EVENING COMMUTE... ESPECIALLY ON SECONDARY ROADS WHICH TEND TO REMAIN COLDER AND INCREASE THE THREAT FOR SLICK ROAD CONDITIONS. THOSE TRAVELING LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT ACROSS THE EASTERN HALF OF VERMONT SHOULD BE AWARE OF THE INCREASED THREAT FOR SLIPPERY TRAVEL DUE TO SNOW AND RAIN.
