Bells will ring Monday afternoon to honor Vermont's Civil War history.
Monday is the 150th anniversary of the Battle of the Wilderness, which took place in Virginia. A thousand Vermont men died that day, and local historian and author Howard Coffin told us it's the most important day in the state's Civil War history.
The legislature passed a resolution asking Vermonters to toll bells for 10 minutes starting at 4 p.m., which is when the fighting began.
