What Does PACE Homeowner Funding Mean for You?

PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) Homeowner Funding

A big ‘thank you’ to the voters who approved the adoption of the PACE program from the floor at Town Meeting in March, 2014.
Weathersfield is now a designated PACE district
Homeowners can use PACE to finance improvements such as air sealing and insulating leaky basements and attics, upgrading to energy efficient windows and doors, purchasing a cold climate heat pump, or upgrading to an efficient heating system (including pellet boilers and furnaces) – financing these measures often results in saving more money on your utility bills than you are paying in financing payments, so you save money from day one! It can also be used to finance solar PV and other renewable electric generation.
PACE Provides
• $3,500 to $30,000 in financing for home energy improvements
• 0% to 1.99% interest rates on the first $10,000 to most Vermonters (for non electric generation products and services) Interest rates for solar electric are higher.
• Up to 20 years to pay it back, keeping monthly payments low
• A free analysis to determine the cost effectiveness of each project
• Access to low-cost, long-term financing which makes it easy for homeowners to finance energy improvements.
NEXT STEP --- WEATHERIZATION -- then SOLAR and/or HEAT PUMPS
