On
February 17, 2015 at approximately 1417 hours the Citizens Bank at 2
Chester Road Springfield, Vermont (the Springfield Plaza) was robbed of
an undetermined amount of money.
The suspect was described as a white male subject, young in age approximate 20’s, 5’4 to 5'8" in height, with a slender/petit build. Offender was also described as wearing chocolate brown cotton style gloves, a black coat, flannel type shirt possibly beige and green in color, with blue jeans and black logger style boots. The male suspect was said to also be wearing a black winter hat and a fake black beard. The suspects voice was described as being soft, yet high pitched, and young.
Suspect entered the bank with a large/fat phone held to his ear throughout the incident and threw a Shaw’s grocery bag at the teller. The suspect demanded money, never displaying a gun, only stating one was possessed. After being provided the money the suspect left the Citizens Bank on foot traveling toward the plaza foot bridge.
At this time a dye pack detonated and a red mist/smoke could be seen. The suspect continued across the bridge and possibly entered a vehicle, unknown direction of travel. It is also unknown at this time is there was an accomplish in this matter.
There is the possibility that the suspect was exposed to the chemicals in the dye pack and may be marked and/or covered in the dye and chemicals contained in such. The dye/chemicals are likely to be on the upper torso, face, and hands of this suspect.
Should anyone see someone fitting the above description, please do not approach or attempt to confront in anyway as this suspect may still be arm and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Springfield Police Department at 802-885-2113.
