Inside The Forecast:
We're back in the freezer again. Wind chills will be in the teens & 20s below zero during the morning hours. The wind will die down later in the afternoon, but we are headed for another one of those real cold, sub-zero nights tonight.

But guess what? There will be a warm-up over the weekend. Many of us
will crack the freezing mark on Sunday for the first time in over 3
weeks. But the warm-up will be brief, and it will come along with some
messy winter weather.
A frontal system will bring snow back into the North Country by mid-afternoon on Saturday. Winds will pick up out of the south, and that will bring a surge of warmer air into the region by Sunday morning. That snow may mix with some sleet & rain Sunday morning, mainly in our southern areas.
But that will all transition back to snow showers later on Sunday as the old, familiar, Arctic air makes its return again. The snow will amount to about 2-4" for most of us, but there may be a little more in the mountains.
By Sunday night, wind chills will be very low again. And it will stay that way through Tuesday, although there will be some sunshine at the start of next week.
And sure enough, yet another clipper system will come at us on Wednesday and early Thursday with a little more snow. And of course, it will turn colder again after that.
This is shaping up to be one of the coldest months of February on record. Maybe March will hold more promise of warmer days! -Gary
