Geraldine V. Burpee

WEATHERSFIELD — Geraldine V. Burpee, 84, died peacefully Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, at home surrounded by her family.

Geraldine was born April 29, 1930, in Weathersfield, the daughter of Herbert and Marion (Wells) Baker.

Geraldine worked in a shoe shop until the births of her children.

She was a loving homemaker and enjoyed being with her family and taking care of every family member who needed her, family always before herself.

She was a special person full of love.

Geraldine is survived by her son, Stephen F. Burpee and his wife, Cathy, of Cavendish; her daughter, Debbie Currie and her husband, Michael, of Weathersfield; three grandchildren, Jessica Hitchcock, Joshua Currie and Jeremy Currie; two great-grandchildren, Emily and Isabelle Hitchcock; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held in the spring at Ascutneyville Cemetery in Ascutney.

The family suggests that donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of Vermont and New Hampshire, P.O. Box 976, White River Junction, VT 05001-0976.

Arrangements are with Stringer Funeral Home & Crematorium, 146 Broad St., in Claremont.
