High Tea Offered for Volunteers

Ascutney — A nonprofit that connects people age 55 and older with volunteer opportunities will hold a high tea on April 11 at 3 p.m. at 20 Ascutney Park Road

Sponsored by the Green Mountain Retired Senior Volunteer Program in Windsor County, the free event is for current and prospective volunteers.

“Anybody who wants to find out about the program can come,” said Corey Mitchell, volunteer coordinator for Green Mountain RSVP in Windsor County. “It’s a good way to hear from other volunteers what it’s really like to do it.”

The volunteers’ efforts include working with programs such as Meals on Wheels and food pantries and providing literacy support in schools and transportation for seniors.
